Summary
A series of paintings started in 2016 to help me sit down and capture a moment while traveling. I typically take 1.5-2.5 hours per painting and complete them in one sitting.
One of my favorite changes in the process is using Tombow pens to sketch the scene. Tombows are water soluble, so I can partially erase elements of the sketch I don’t like, while leaving behind some of the color in the final painting.
